Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

Have you looked at lesson 0?
It's not very good (sort of my rough draft for the lessons)but it explains everything about romaji.
Basically, romaji is a way for beginners to know the pronunciation of a Japanese word without having to know Hiragana.

If there's something I need to explain better just tell me and I'll elaborate more.

Hmm, I thought "big" is "ookii" (to lazy to figure out how to write in hiragana other than by hand, sorry ^^;), but the Wakan dictionary claims both are okay, only claims "ooki" is "na-adj" while "ookii" is "adj". I didn't know anything can be both kinds of adjectives... :o

Anyway, at this point it might be good to tell people that they won't learn classic written hiragana from printed text - some characters like "ki" and "sa" might confuse them later...
(Sorry if you already did somewhere in the next lessons, I read them one after another...)

I'm intelligent, naïve, partially mad and I don't exactly fit in the society. Fortunately, there are a lot of people keeping me company ;-)
